York College, founded in 1890, is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the churches of Christ. Today, York  enrolls more than 400 students each year. Now in its second century, we continue to grow in service to students, to the York community, and to churches of Christ. Students come from more than 30 states and six countries, while 7,500 alumni reside in every state and several countries.

Mission

The mission of York College is to transform lives through Christ-centered education and to equip students for lifelong service to God, family and society.

Purposes:

  • To provide Biblical teachings and spiritual nurture for each student.
  • To provide a strong liberal arts preparation in every academic discipline
  • To provide an environment where tolerance, dialog, and the pursuit of truth are honored.

York College’s Teacher Education program received national accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

York is also a member of the Nebraska Independent College Foundation (NICF).
